Solo Kora Medley

This medley is composed of three traditional Mande kora pieces in alternate tunings from which they are normally played (Silaba tuning to Tomora tuning): Kulanjan, Kemebourama, and Kuruntu Kelefa.

The finale piece from the multimedia dance performance Secrets I Never Told My Mother that premiered October 4th-6th, 2012 at the Trotter Building in Durham, NC. Adam Lindquist added string arrangements, recorded and mixed the piece.

Abbots Bromley Horn Dance from "City Of Frogs."

The Abbots Bromley Horn Dance is a traditional English folk dance piece, and I arranged a version for the 2012 Paperhand Puppet Intervention Summer Show "City of Frogs."

"Nganaya" by Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba This is a djembe piece I co-composed for the band Diali Cissokho & Kaira Ba, in which I play percussion. On this recording I play solo and accompaniment djembe, dununs, karinyan, and some assorted shakers and bells. It pays homage to Les Percussions du Guinée, quotes from many djembe albums, and uses the traditional rhythms Dansa and Soko, and an 'invento' we call "Fallaydon." Drum set played by Austin McCall.

Chechen Kizi, Turkish piece

An immensely famous piece throughout Turkey and the Middle East. I learned it from musician and co-conspirator Benjamin Pates and we recorded this version with kora and oud.
